We are much better on Instagram than at blogging so if you want to keep up to date with all the lovely new things landing in the shop that is definitely the best place to follow us, Instagram name is gildedcabinet. This is a snapshot of the gorgeous new ranges that are currently filling the tables and tempting our customers. We couldn’t resist the owl jugs and cabbage platters and bowls, perfect for summer entertaining in style.

Our aim has always been to source products that are not everywhere else, products that we truly believe in that are either crafted by small artisan makers or something different and a bit quirky that stands out from the crowd. We are passionate about the items we stock and mix the contemporary homewares with carefully selected vintage pieces of furniture. It is hard to put your finger on what makes us buy a piece of furniture but when we see it we know, it’s a mix of proportions, detail, scale and colour. We see a lot, and I mean a lot of furniture, but it really has to have that special something about it. Every piece is unique and its history is borne out in the marks, dents and patina acquired over time. Those very imperfections are often what makes them so unusual and adds to their individual charm.

All our chairs are fully reupholstered using traditional upholstery techniques in fabrics that we love and we hope will inspire you to add a splash of colour to your interior.
